Anne Saxelby of Saxelby Cheesemongers will lead a guided cheese tasting of 5 cheeses from the American Northeast. Elsewhere sommelier, Sarah Sutel, will pair the cheeses with three American beverages: beer, apple cider and Virginia Cabernet Franc.
Karen Weinberg, owner and cheesemaker at 3-Corner Field Farm NY and
Angela Miller, owner and founder
of Consider Bardwell Farm VT, will talk about their farms and present three cheeses each, paired with beverages from Sommelier Sarah Sutel.
Vince Razionale from Cellars at Jasper Hill, VT will explain "affinage" (the craft of ageing cheese) and the role of the Cellars in VT. Vince will present a selection of five cheeses from the Cellars, paired with condiments from Pastry Chef Leigh Friend and beverages from Sommelier Sarah Sutel.
Chef Megan Johnson, together with Jeremy Stephenson, cheesemaker from Spring Brook Farm VT, will present a three-course menu using the Raclette and Tarentaise from Spring Brook Farm.
All tasting will take place in the garden room of our sister restaurant, Elsewhere, which is located nine short blocks south of Casellula at 403 W. 43rd Street, between Ninth and Tenth Avenues.
